Pugh to Host ‘Behind the Screen: How to Protect Your Children from Human Trafficking in a Digital World’
August 5, 2025
LUZERNE – To help educate residents on the prevalence of human trafficking, Rep. Brenda Pugh (R-Luzerne) is inviting residents to attend her event, “Behind the Screen: How to Protect Your Children from Human Trafficking in a Digital World.”
“Human trafficking is one of the fastest-growing crimes in the nation, and children are frequently being victimized right in their own homes, often via the internet,” said Pugh. “I am hosting this event to help parents, grandparents and others in the community learn how to recognize and combat this crime.”
The event will take place Thursday, Aug. 14, from 6-8 p.m. at Dallas High School, 2030 Conyngham Ave. Guest speakers joining Pugh include Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday; Luzerne County District Attorney Sam Sanguedolce; Tom Mosca, co-chair of the NEPA Task Force against Human Trafficking; and Chaz Balogh with ourrescue.org and handler for Spike, a K9 electronic scent detection dog.
Parents can bring their teenage children to begin these difficult discussions, but be aware that this subject matter is not recommended for young children. RSVP is encouraged, but not required, at RepPugh.com or by calling the office at 570-283-1001.
The 120th Legislative District includes Courtdale, Exeter, Forty Fort, Kingston, Luzerne, Pringle, Swoyersville, West Wyoming and Wyoming boroughs, as well as Dallas, Exeter, Franklin, Jackson and Kingston townships in Luzerne County.
