Pugh’s Event to Feature Many Options to Help Residents

LUZERNE –Rep. Brenda Pugh (R-Luzerne) is giving residents of the 120th Legislative District an opportunity to get rid of unwanted items safely and properly. The “Free Paper Shredding and Tire Recycling” event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 9, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the West Side Career and Technology Center, 75 Evans St., in Pringle.

Residents wishing to shred personal documents are encouraged to bring no more than three boxes of paper. The paper should be loose, not bundled, and binder clips should be removed. No businesses, please.

Up to four tires per car can also be recycled.

In addition, the Luzerne County District Attorney’s Office will be on site to collect unused and expired medications, American Legion Post 395 will be on hand to accept old and worn American flags, and Sara’s Table will be on site collecting non-perishable canned goods.

The 120th Legislative District includes Courtdale, Edwardsville, Exeter, Forty Fort, Kingston, Luzerne, Pringle, Swoyersville, West Pittston, West Wyoming and Wyoming boroughs, as well as Exeter, Jackson and Kingston townships in Luzerne County.
